Project Description:
The overall project involves the restoration of approximately 900 acres of diked historic baylands to tidal and seasonal wetlands using dredged sediment to raise the deeply subsided site closer to final intertidal elevations.
Services Provided:
WWR provided technical advising to the state project sponsors. Services included strategic project planning, assistance in consultant selection, review and preparation of project documents prepared to support the complex regulatory requirements, and senior peer review on restoration design matters. Dr. Siegel is also providing field investigation services for reference sites, including biological surveys and hydrologic and geomorphic characterization.
